La Palma hosts international poetry meeting and craft fair
La Palma is hosting two significant cultural events aimed at preserving local traditions and heritage.
The second International Meeting of Versadores ‘Punto y Clave’ will take place in the Villa de Garafía on August 12. This event features a fusion of artistic improvisation and traditional music, bringing together performers from La Palma and Cuba. Participants include Joseíto Bienes, Yapci Bienes, and Jonay Castilla from La Palma, alongside Fernando Murga, Adriana Fajardo, and Orismay Hernández from Cuba. The event is designed to be interactive, allowing the audience to suggest themes and phrases.
Additionally, the 37th Insular Craft Fair will be held in Tazacorte from August 12 to 16. Organized by the Cabildo de La Palma, the fair will showcase 48 traditional crafts and approximately 20 agri-food companies offering local products such as cheeses, wines, and honey. The program includes live demonstrations, workshops, and folklore performances, with a specific focus on inclusive craftsmanship through the participation of INDISPAL.
