La Palma improves accessibility at Llano de Las Ventas viewpoint
The Cabildo de La Palma has completed accessibility improvements at the Llano de Las Ventas viewpoint in Breña Baja. This site is part of an island-wide network of 16 astronomical viewpoints designed to observe the solar system and highlight the region's high sky quality.
The project included adapting access points and parking areas to accommodate people with reduced mobility. Additionally, the works incorporated landscape integration measures to protect the visual environment and promote a more respectful and sustainable use of the natural space.
These actions are part of the La Palma Tourist Sustainability Plan, a Biosphere Reserve initiative supported by the Secretary of State for Tourism, the Government of the Canary Islands, and the Cabildo Insular de La Palma. The goal is to strengthen the local tourism model through natural resource conservation and economic development.
