La Palma launches inaugural Saldo Fest retail fair

The first edition of Saldo Fest, a retail and discount fair, began on October 16 in El Paso, La Palma. Promoted by the Cabildo de La Palma and organized by Sodepal, the event runs through October 18.

Thirty-six businesses and companies from across the island are participating in the area surrounding Plaza Francisca de Gazmira. The fair offers new, high-quality products from seasonal clearances, stock liquidations, and remaining inventory at reduced prices. The initiative aims to help local merchants reduce stock, improve product rotation, and gain liquidity for the upcoming season while reaching new customers.

Miriam Perestelo, the Councilor for Economic Promotion and CEO of Sodepal, stated that the event is intended to value local merchants and their daily efforts, ensuring that purchases provide direct support to the island's economy. In addition to the commercial area, the event includes workshops in painting, crafts, and manual skills, musical entertainment, raffles, and a gastronomy area featuring food trucks.
