La Palma: Man evacuated by helicopter after ravine accident

A 25-year-old man was evacuated by helicopter after an accident in a difficult-to-access ravine in Puntallana, La Palma. The incident occurred in the Vizcaíno ravine around midday on Saturday.

Emergency services from Cecoes 1-1-2 activated a rescue team from the GES. Due to weather conditions, rescue personnel had to approach the site on foot to provide first aid and assist the man to an accessible area. The individual suffered moderate trauma and was subsequently airlifted to the Hospital General de La Palma.
