La Palma renovates Los Tilos hiker meeting point
The Cabildo de La Palma has renovated the hiker meeting point in Los Tilos, located adjacent to the Visitor Center. The project aims to enhance services for visitors using the island's trail network by providing improved areas for rest, safety, and well-being.
Mónica Gómez, the Councilor for the Environment, stated that the project provides a space to start or end routes, take breaks, or enjoy the natural surroundings. The renovation strengthens the connection between the Visitor Center, the Environmental Information Point, and the trails themselves to promote a sustainable model of nature tourism.
The works included roof repairs, adapting usage conditions, and installing adequate lighting. This initiative is part of the La Palma Tourism Sustainability Plan, funded by the State Secretariat for Tourism, the Government of the Canary Islands, and the island council.
