La Palma to host debate on housing crisis and tourism

Drago La Palma will host a meeting titled “¿Quién puede vivir en La Palma? Un encuentro sobre vivienda, turismo y derecho a quedarse” to discuss the housing emergency on the island. The event is scheduled for Friday, September 25, at 18:00 at the Casa Cultural Espiral Aridane in Los Llanos de Aridane.

The discussion will focus on the causes and consequences of the housing crisis, specifically addressing issues such as vacation rentals and the commodification of housing. The session aims to identify potential solutions through academic analysis and expert testimony.

Moderated by Drago La Palma spokesperson Sara Hernández, the panel will include María Elena Sánchez, a Professor of Civil Law at the University of La Laguna, and David Ramos, a Professor of Human Geography at the University of Salamanca.
