The Government of La Pampa and the National University of La Pampa (UNLPam) have signed an agreement to establish an Artificial Intelligence Observatory. The initiative aims to study, research, and monitor the social, ethical, regulatory, and technical impacts of AI technology.

Operating under the UNLPam Rectorate, the observatory will focus on generating local knowledge and capabilities to ensure the responsible integration of AI within the state, the productive sector, and society. Governor Sergio Ziliotto emphasized that the goal is not to reject the technology, but to understand its effects on the economy, labor, and social ties to establish necessary rules for its development.

The agreement was signed by Governor Ziliotto and Rector Francisco Marull. Officials noted that the creation of the observatory will not require new administrative structures or the creation of new positions within the university.
