Energy sector initiatives focus on transition and innovation

Various regional initiatives and corporate milestones are highlighting the ongoing energy transition across Latin America and Europe.

In Peru, ENGIE Energía Perú secured the top position in the energy sector for the ninth consecutive year in the Merco Empresas 2026 ranking, reflecting strong corporate reputation and commitment to energy solutions. In Argentina, La Pampa hosted a provincial renewable energy conference involving over 100 companies, offering technical assistance and credits up to $500 million to boost efficiency. Additionally, a sustainability and innovation workshop was organized at the National University of Santiago del Estero (UNSE).

In Chile, the 'Energía Más Mujeres' table addressed gender gaps in the energy sector, noting that female occupation in the region stands at 18% and emphasizing the need for parity in leadership and wage equality. Meanwhile, in Spain, the 'Innovar para transformar la industria energética' event in Vigo focused on technological challenges such as artificial intelligence, hydrogen, and decarbonization through the Business Factory Energy accelerator.
