La Pampa invests $800 million in rural fire prevention

The government of La Pampa has launched a tender for the tracking and maintenance of firebreaks to prevent rural fires. The project involves an updated official investment of approximately $799.3 million.

The initiative aims to cover 3,274 hectares across various regions and protected areas of the province during 2026. This preventive policy is a coordinated effort between the Provincial Road Directorate, Civil Defense, and the Ministry of Environment.

By maintaining these firebreaks, the province seeks to create safety strips that hinder the spread of fire, facilitate access for emergency brigades, and protect people, agricultural production, infrastructure, livestock, and local biodiversity.
