La Pampa proposes Stamp Tax abolition and new road tolls

In La Pampa, provincial deputy Noelia Viara has introduced a bill to permanently abolish the Stamp Tax (Impuesto de Sellos) starting January 1, 2027. Viara criticized the administration of Governor Sergio Ziliotto, noting that the province failed to fulfill a commitment made over three decades ago to phase out the tax. The proposal aims to reduce the tax burden on production, boost regional economies, and improve competitiveness.

Separately, the La Pampa government is preparing a bill to implement road tolls on provincial routes. The initiative responds to increased heavy truck traffic, specifically sand transport for Vaca Muerta operations, which has significantly strained local road infrastructure. The plan proposes creating the ‘Fideicomiso Rutas Pampeanas’ to manage collections, with 90% of funds earmarked for the Provincial Road Fund for infrastructure maintenance and 10% for municipal local roads.
