La Pastora Oncology Center treats 11,000 women in first 200 days

The La Pastora Oncology Center for Women in Mexico City has treated more than 11,000 women and performed over 800 oncological surgeries during its first 200 days of operation. Alejandro Svarch Pérez, Director General of IMSS-Bienestar, presented these results during a press conference held by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

The facility utilizes a specialized model designed to accelerate diagnosis and treatment. Patients receive medical assessments and necessary studies on their first visit, with pathology results delivered within a maximum of 14 days. This allows treatment to begin in under 30 days, which is approximately 10 days faster than international averages.

In addition to breast cancer, the center has expanded services to include cervical, endometrial, and ovarian cancers. The center integrates detection, diagnosis, surgery, chemotherapy, and psychological support in a single location. It is equipped with high-technology ultrasound, AI-supported mammography, and specialized operating rooms.
