La Paz authorities conduct major waste collection and cleaning operations

Municipal authorities in La Paz, Baja California Sur, have conducted extensive waste removal operations to improve urban cleanliness and public safety. During the first week of September, the General Directorate of Sustainability and Waste Management collected 2,290 tons of waste across 144 routes using an average of 24 collection trucks daily. The majority of this material consisted of 2,208 tons of household waste, supplemented by debris from residential containers and landfill transport.

Additionally, a specialized cleaning campaign led by Municipal President Martha Guerrero Sánchez targeted the Metro La Paz station area. This operation removed over 40 tons of debris, including trash, soil, logs, and weeds, from medians and access points. The initiative aimed to improve visibility and safety in high-traffic areas, addressing issues of accumulated waste and overgrown vegetation that had previously hindered transit and urban image.
