La Paz City Council to award 300 sports scholarships in 2026

The La Paz City Council will distribute 300 sports scholarships and incentives in 2026, representing a total investment of 5.2 million pesos. Acting Mayor Amor Fenech Montaño announced that the program will award 250 scholarships to young athletes, each worth 15,000 pesos, and 50 economic incentives of 30,000 pesos to coaches.

The selection process followed the review of 333 athlete applications and 62 coach applications. The program aims to recognize the performance of youth who participated in the CONADE National Games. Officials noted that the number of scholarships and the incentive amounts have increased compared to 2025. Over the last five years, the municipality has invested nearly 15 million pesos in these grants, alongside improvements to sports facilities and equipment.
