La Paz community leaders propose converting geriatric clinic into hemodialysis center

The organization Caminemos Juntos has launched an initiative to rehabilitate a closed geriatric clinic in La Paz, Mexico, to transform it into a hemodialysis center. Leader Román Rico González announced a campaign to collect 100,000 signatures to present to State of Mexico Governor Delfina Gómez Alvarez.

The project aims to address the needs of an estimated 30,000 to 40,000 elderly residents who currently face high costs for transportation to distant hospitals or expensive private sessions. The proposal includes equipping the facility with 10 dialysis machines through private donations and utilizing specialized medical personnel from the State of Mexico government.
