La Paz Mayor acknowledges water shortages and insecurity
Martha Guerrero Sánchez, the mayor of La Paz, Mexico, has acknowledged significant challenges facing the municipality, including water shortages, public insecurity, and a lack of public works. Speaking during the 151st anniversary of the municipality's establishment, Guerrero attributed these issues to decades of mismanagement by previous administrations and rapid population growth in impoverished, irregular zones.
Guerrero emphasized the need for citizen participation to drive transformation and noted that her administration is coordinating efforts with the federal government under President Claudia Sheinbaum and the State of Mexico Governor Delfina Gómez. She also addressed political opposition, accusing them of spreading misinformation to hinder progress.
