La Paz readies security inspections for 2026 Gran Poder procession

The La Paz municipal government began a series of inspections of spectator stands, alongside citizen‑security, hygiene and logistical checks, ahead of the promised entry of Señor Jesús del Gran Poder 2026 scheduled for Sunday. Municipal officials and police carried out a preventive sweep that included removing alcohol‑sale stalls and spreading crowds after the folkloric entrance, while the Intendencia and the Municipal Guard patrolled the route.

Medical points and tents for protecting missing children were set up, and five intervention points were established, explained security director Joel Montaño. Mayor César Dockweiler said the measures – including stand reviews, portable toilets and traffic closures from early morning – aim to ensure the procession proceeds safely and without congestion. Drivers were urged to avoid the closed streets.
