La Paz teenager hospitalized after gas cylinder explosion

A 17-year-old girl was hospitalized with first and third-degree burns following a gas explosion in the El Calandrio neighborhood of La Paz on Saturday, September 19.

The incident occurred around 5:00 PM when a 10-liter pot containing beans and water fell near a gas cylinder, causing the supply line to disconnect. The resulting gas leak led to an explosion. While two family members were treated on-site for respiratory difficulties after inhaling fumes, the teenager was transported by SAMU paramedics to the Juan María de Salvatierra General Hospital due to the severity of her injuries.

Firefighters responded to the scene to control the leak, ventilate the residence, and mitigate further risks.
