La Peña de la Sombrilla provides community support in Havana

In Havana, the sociocultural project ‘La Peña de la Sombrilla’ has provided community engagement for nearly three years. Located in the Nuevo Vedado area, the initiative offers a space for social interaction, including an open-air garage sale where residents can find clothing, footwear, and groceries.

The project serves as a source of emotional support and distraction for local residents, including elderly citizens from the ‘Esperanza de Vida’ senior circle. Participants note that the gatherings provide an opportunity to socialize, dress up, and improve their well-being through community connection.
