Argentina sees surge in violent crimes across multiple cities

In Comodoro Rivadavia, police say a 25‑year‑old attacked a 52‑year‑old homeowner after an all‑night party, binding him with cable, stealing televisions and a cache of firearms, and was arrested with a Taurus 9 mm pistol and over 90 live rounds.

Later that same week, two men were savagely beaten with cement blocks in the city centre, sustaining skull fractures and losing phones and cash before the assailants fled.

In Banda del Río Salí, investigators captured a fugitive suspected of an attempted homicide in which two pedestrians were shot at but escaped unharmed.

Rawson reported two separate assaults on rides‑hailing drivers. A 19‑year‑old Uber Moto driver was ambushed, struck by a stone and robbed of cash, an iPhone and documents, while a DiDi driver was pelted with stones and robbed of more than 300,000 pesos and a high‑end phone.

La Plata saw a 42‑year‑old man arrive bloodied at his ex‑partner’s home with knife wounds, and a 75‑year‑old doctor knocked unconscious while waiting for a bus, both robbed of personal items.

In La Matanza, video captured a driver slashing a bus driver’s windshield and punching the driver during a traffic dispute, attempting to steal the driver’s phone.
