La Plata business federation requests stable summer banking hours
The Federación Empresaria de La Plata (FELP) has formally requested that Buenos Aires Governor Axel Kicillof maintain current banking hours of 10:00 to 15:00 in La Plata, Berisso, and Ensenada during the 2026/2027 summer season.
This request comes in response to the potential implementation of a summer schedule running from 08:00 to 13:00. FELP argues that the proposed earlier window does not suit the region's specific characteristics. The federation noted that the current schedule better aligns banking operations with the working hours of merchants, entrepreneurs, workers, and consumers.
Additionally, the entity raised concerns regarding transportation and urban circulation. They warned that moving banking activities to an earlier slot would concentrate a high volume of people during peak morning hours, coinciding with school, commercial, and labor commutes. The request, which also carries the support of the Berisso Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasizes La Plata's role as a major administrative and economic hub for the province.
