The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in La Plata has advanced to the semifinals of the ‘World Cup of Cathedrals,’ an Instagram-based competition organized by the account @documentales_de_bolsillo. In the latest round, the Argentine landmark secured 82% of the votes, defeating Milan’s Duomo.

This victory follows a previous win against Notre Dame de Paris. The organizers noted that La Plata is no longer considered a surprise in the tournament, citing massive support from local residents and users across Argentina. The cathedral, located in front of Plaza Moreno, is now considered a major contender for the title.
