La Plata Cathedral reaches final of World Cathedral competition

The La Plata Cathedral in Argentina has advanced to the final of the ‘Mundial de Catedrales’, a virtual competition held via Instagram polls. In the semifinal round, the La Plata Cathedral secured 93% of the votes, defeating the Cologne Cathedral in Germany with over 20,000 participants involved in the vote.

The competition, organized by the Instagram account ‘Documentales de bolsillo’, features matchups between some of the world’s most famous religious monuments. Prior to the semifinal, the La Plata Cathedral had already defeated Notre Dame de Paris and the Milan Duomo.

The final is scheduled for Saturday, August 22, on Instagram. The La Plata Cathedral’s opponent will be determined by the outcome of the match between the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral in Spain and the Florence Cathedral (Santa Maria del Fiore) in Italy.
