La Plata councilman sparks controversy over Malvinas sovereignty

In La Plata, PRO councilman Nicolás Morzone sparked controversy during a legislative session regarding the Malvinas Islands. While discussing a project to support recent presidential messages concerning the islands, Morzone criticized the Centro de Ex Combatientes (Cecim) La Plata, labeling them a ‘Kirchnerist group’ after they described recent government communications as ‘extreme hypocrisy.’

Morzone also made bellicose remarks, stating that rights must be conquered and that ‘if we have to go to war, we will go to war.’ He further criticized past Argentine presidents for maintaining neutrality, arguing for a more orthodox alignment with the United States and the West to support sovereignty claims.
