La Plata court orders service station to pay 13 million pesos for fueling error

A court in La Plata, Argentina, has ordered a service station to pay more than 13 million pesos to a driver after a fueling error caused severe damage to his vehicle. The incident occurred on December 6, 2016, at an Axion Energy station located on Avenue 72.

The driver, identified as Rubén, requested diesel for his Chevrolet Meriva, but staff mistakenly filled the tank with gasoline. The vehicle malfunctioned almost immediately and required a tow to a mechanic. Technical inspections revealed significant damage to the fuel injection pump, injectors, computer module, and turbocharger.

Following a decade of legal proceedings, Judge María Cecilia Valeros De Córica of the Civil and Commercial Court No. 1 of La Plata ruled that the company must indemnify the owner for 13,688,000 pesos plus interest, covering the repair costs which were initially valued at approximately 12,800,000 pesos.
