La Plata drivers denounce illegal parking reservations near Cathedral

Drivers in La Plata have reported illegal activities by street attendants, known locally as ‘trapitos,’ near the Inmaculada Concepción Cathedral. According to complaints, these individuals are reserving public parking spaces and charging fees to those who wish to use them, effectively preventing free parking for the general public.

The issue is reportedly occurring daily on Avenida 53 between 13 and 14. Residents and motorists claim that attendants occupy spaces early in the morning to hold them for specific drivers, forcing others to park several blocks away from their destinations.

This behavior is not isolated to the Cathedral area. Similar reports of illegal parking reservations and aggressive behavior have been documented in the city's urban center, specifically around Calle 44 between 4 and 5, near the Property Registry, as well as on parallel and transversal streets including 43, 45, 46, 3, 4, and 5.
