La Plata family raffles vehicles to fund daughter's cochlear implant

The parents of Jazmín Solís, a seven-year-old girl from La Plata, Argentina, are raffling their motorcycle and bicycle to fund a replacement cochlear implant processor. Jazmín, who has severe bilateral profound hearing loss, relies on the device for communication, learning, and speech development.

The need for the fundraiser arose after an incident at Escuela N° 11 'Florentino Ameghino' in early October. The external components of her processor—including the coil, cable, battery, and processor itself—were removed from her and subsequently found in a school toilet. Because the device cannot get wet, it became unusable, leaving Jazmín without hearing.

The replacement processor costs approximately $19,118 USD, an amount the family cannot afford alone. The raffle features a Rouser P150 motorcycle as the first prize and an all-terrain bicycle as the second. The family is selling 1,000 tickets to raise the necessary funds.
