La Plata home burglary sparks security concerns

A robbery took place in a residence on calle 115 between 35 and 36 in the Barrio Hipódromo district of La Plata over the weekend. The incident occurred between 02:00 and 08:00 on Sunday while the homeowner was traveling. Thieves first shattered a side window, met barred windows, then climbed onto the roof, broke a lock and part of the structure, created a hole and entered the house using a refrigerator for support. Inside they seized a notebook, a television, wireless headphones, a bicycle, various appliances, perfumes, imported makeup, sportswear, shoes, silver chains and assorted food items. The break‑in was discovered around 08:00 when a neighbor noticed the forced entry and called emergency services. The victim’s uncle filed a police report, and a neighbour’s security camera captured movement during the night. Local residents voiced heightened anxiety, noting that roof‑entry burglaries are becoming more frequent and that traditional home‑security measures appear insufficient.
