La Plata hosts III Pan-Hispanic Convention of Clear Language

The city of La Plata, Argentina, is hosting the III Convention of the Pan-Hispanic Network of Clear and Accessible Language. The event, organized by the Real Academia Española (RAE) and the Supreme Court of Justice of the Province of Buenos Aires, focuses on the theme ‘Ibero-American Dialogue on Clear and Accessible Language and Artificial Intelligence.’

During the convention, La Plata Mayor Julio Alak honored Santiago Muñoz Machado, the director of the RAE, by naming him an Illustrious Visitor and Guest of Honor and presenting him with the Key to the City. The municipality also formalized its official adherence to the Pan-Hispanic Network of Clear and Accessible Language.

The convention includes over 250 presentations and covers six thematic axes, including public power language, cognitive accessibility, and the impact of technology on language. Officials emphasized that clear language is a fundamental right for citizens and a constitutional obligation for public institutions to ensure justice is understandable to all.
