La Plata municipality launches new social rights and prevention programs
The Municipality of La Plata has launched several social initiatives aimed at community rights, violence prevention, and addiction support.
A new agenda of activities is being implemented across various neighborhoods to promote violence-free relationships and strengthen community participation. Key programs include the ‘Violentómetro’ to identify gender-based violence, the ‘Digna Menstruación’ workshop to promote equitable access to menstrual hygiene resources, and specialized workshops for LGTBT+ individuals facing gender-based violence.
Additionally, the Municipal Agency for the Prevention and Assistance of Addictions has introduced the ‘Familias Preventoras’ program. This initiative provides guidance, orientation, and support tools for families of individuals dealing with addiction. The program allows families to share experiences and receive training to participate in local prevention efforts, while also facilitating referrals to therapeutic services.
