La Plata prosecutor interrogates suspect in Braian Álvarez homicide

Prosecutor Betina Lacki is conducting an interrogation of Alessandro Luis Medina, the suspect detained for the killing of 25-year-old Braian Yamil Álvarez in the San Carlos neighborhood of La Plata. The victim was fatally stabbed in the rib during a confrontation near 139 and 35.

Witnesses suggest the suspect, known to the victim, may have been under the influence of alcohol or sleep-deprived at the time of the incident. This homicide brings the total for La Plata and the surrounding region to 19 for the year. Data indicates a trend in the area where most killings are linked to interpersonal conflicts, neighborhood disputes, or long-standing personal grievances rather than robberies.
