La Plata residents protest severe road deterioration in Gonnet and Gorina

Residents in the La Plata region are protesting the severe deterioration of local roads, specifically in the areas of Gonnet and Joaquín Gorina. In Villa Castells, residents report that Calle 4 between 493 and 494 has become nearly impassable due to deep ruts, mud, and standing water, particularly during rainfall.

In Joaquín Gorina, neighbors are highlighting the critical state of Calle 501 between 144 and 147. Despite being a strategic route intended to connect Gorina with City Bell, Gonnet, and La Plata, the road is reportedly filled with potholes that cause vehicle damage.

Local citizens are directing their grievances toward municipal authorities and local delegates, including Atahualpa in Villa Castells and Manuel Rodríguez in Gorina, citing a lack of response and maintenance. The poor infrastructure is impacting workers traveling to local penitentiary units and meat processing plants, as well as pedestrians who lack adequate sidewalks.
