La Plata residents report playground hazards and sanitation issues

Residents and community members in the La Plata region are reporting several urban maintenance and safety concerns. In a local plaza near 47th and 31st streets, a broken slide has left a bolt exposed on the sliding surface, posing a physical injury risk to children.

In Barrio Jardín, the community surrounding the Escuela Pedagógica Municipal has denounced the formation of a permanent micro-dump in front of the school. Residents report that waste bags are frequently torn open, scattering trash across green spaces and creating significant hygiene and health concerns for students.

Additionally, in the Aeroparque neighborhood near the Route 2 exit, residents have expressed alarm regarding a group of people living in a drainage tunnel beneath the highway. Neighbors claim the situation has led to increased trash accumulation that blocks drainage outlets, as well as concerns regarding security and the monitoring of local homes.
