La Pobla de Farnals designs children's festivals with youth input

The municipal Council of Childhood and Adolescence (CIAM) in La Pobla de Farnals organized a consultation that gathered proposals from 410 primary‑school pupils aged 6‑12, representing 19 classes. The ideas were incorporated into the programme for the III Festes Majors Infantils i Adolescents 2026, a municipal children's festival.

The results were presented on 22 July during an Infant Public Hearing held within the Activa’t a l’Estiu summer program. Local officials Dolors Fontestad, councilor for Festivals and Culture, and Carmen Alcíbar, councilor for Infancy and Youth, attended alongside the participating children. Proposals were sorted into four thematic blocks – sports, street shows, games and workshops, and parks – with popular choices such as colpbol, football, Valencian pilota, table tennis, volleyball and circus performances. The initiative aims to give children a real impact on municipal cultural activities while teaching collaborative decision‑making.
