French mobile operators launch diverse 2026 back-to-school plans

French telecommunications operators are introducing various mobile plan offers for the 2026 back-to-school season, targeting specific demographics such as children, teenagers, and students.

Bouygues Telecom is offering specialized packages, including the Kids Watch for children aged 9 and up, and plans for teenagers that feature parental controls like screen time limits and social media blocking. They also provide an option for unlimited internet during weekends for a small additional fee.

Other market players are competing with diverse data volumes and pricing. La Poste Mobile has launched a 5G plan for those under 18 that includes cyberbullying protection tools. Cdiscount Mobile is offering a low-cost 5GB 4G plan, while Sosh and YouPrice are competing in the high-data segment, with the latter offering 300GB on the Orange network.

Market trends indicate that entry-level plans with small data envelopes are no longer always the most economical. While the average monthly data consumption is approximately 18.4GB, many consumers are opting for larger data packages, sometimes at lower prices than smaller, more restrictive plans.
