La Rábida attracts over 22,000 visitors during holiday weekend
The La Rábida Open Days recorded 22,139 visits during the October 12 holiday weekend. Organized by the Huelva Provincial Council through the La Rábida Management Unit, the event featured activities across the Muelle de las Carabelas, the Foro Iberoamericano, and the Celestino Mutis Botanical Park.
The programming integrated history, culture, nature, music, theater, and gastronomy. Key highlights included the premiere of the audiovisual production ‘La Rábida, puente sobre el océano’, dedicated to Columbus’s voyage, and an exhibition marking 100 years of the Plus Ultra flight at the Foro Iberoamericano.
Organizers noted an increase in visitor stay duration, aided by a free tourist train service connecting the three main sites. The expanded offerings, including traditional games, workshops, and adventure activities, aimed to provide a diverse experience beyond the traditional viewing of the Pinta, Niña, and Santa María replicas.
