La Recova moves to temporary site in Asunción for restoration

The traditional commercial corridor La Recova is temporarily relocating its operations to the Centro Cultural del Puerto de Asunción to allow for essential restoration work. The official opening of this temporary space is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, featuring a festival with music, dance, and crafts.

The restoration project is part of the Tekorenda Program, managed by the Secretaría Nacional de Cultura (SNC) as part of preparations for the Asunción 500 Years Commission. The project, funded by Itaipu Binacional and managed by the Parque Tecnológico Itaipu (PTI), involves a contract of approximately 2.8 billion Guaraníes to restore facades, galleries, floors, and lighting, while improving accessibility.

During the relocation, vendors will continue to sell traditional Paraguayan products, including textiles, leather goods, and various handicrafts. The temporary shops will be located on the ground floor of the Puerto Cultural Center and will be open Monday through Saturday, from 08:30 to 18:00.
