La Rinconada hosts Triple Crown finale and Alejandro Briceño's return

The La Rinconada racetrack in Venezuela is set to host its 32nd racing meeting on Sunday, August 16, featuring 13 competitions. The central attraction is the 71st edition of the Clásico República Bolivariana de Venezuela (GI), the final leg of the National Triple Crown for three-year-old colts. The 2,000-meter race offers a $195,000 bonus and features a high-stakes duel between Big Valdi, trained by Riccardo D’Angelo, and Pontevecchio, trained by Germán Rojas, as they compete for the double crown.

In addition to the Triple Crown race, the event marks the return of jockey Alejandro Briceño to the capital's racetrack. Briceño, who has seen recent success at the Hipódromo Nacional de Valencia—including a victory in the Clásico Independencia de Venezuela—is returning to Coche following an invitation facilitated by his agent, Yorman “Humildad” González.
