La Rinconada horse racing features major wins and jockey sanctions

The La Rinconada racetrack in Venezuela hosted a significant racing program featuring 14 competitions. Key victories included Fatima Blush in the XXIII Clásico Gelinotte (Grade II), Black Stone in the Millard Ziadie (Grade II), and Ekati King in the Copa Belleza Venezolana.

Jockey Iván Pimentel Jr. and Jaime Lugo were among the top performers of the week, each securing two wins. Pimentel Jr. achieved victories with Gran Torrente and The Exquisite Girl, maintaining a high effectiveness rate of 71% when riding favorites.

However, the National Hippodrome Institute (INH) issued fines to jockeys Iván Pimentel and Jaime Lugo Jr. during the tenth race. The sanctions were applied after both riders were observed rising from their mounts before the finish line, in violation of Article 252 of the National Racing Regulations.
