La Rioja government provides 25 million pesos for cumin producers

The provincial government of La Rioja, through the Ministry of Production and Environment, has allocated 25 million pesos to support cumin producers in Bañado de los Pantanos, Arauco.

Governor Ricardo Quintela led the distribution of herbicides to more than 100 producers. The initiative aims to address critical needs in the current production cycle, improve crop quality, and reduce the high costs faced by rural families engaged in this traditional regional activity.

Virginia López, the Mayor of Arauco, noted that the provincial support is essential, stating that without this assistance, purchasing the necessary herbicides would be impossible for many producers.
