La Rioja Judiciary implements live streaming for judge selection exams
The Council of the Magistracy in La Rioja, Argentina, has launched a pilot program to live-stream oral examinations for judicial position competitions. This initiative aims to increase transparency and eliminate doubts regarding the legitimacy of the selection process for various judicial roles.
Karina Becerra, president of the Council and member of the Superior Court of Justice, stated that while exams were previously recorded for candidate review, the move to live broadcasting is intended to demystify the process for the public. The initial live sessions focused on family court positions, which involve specific and special procedures.
The selection process includes several stages: evaluation of professional background, written opposition exams, oral examinations, psychological testing, and final personal interviews. Officials are currently evaluating whether to extend live broadcasts to the personal interview stage in future competitions.
