La Rioja Ministry of Health develops regulations for aesthetic centers

The Ministry of Health in La Rioja has begun developing provincial regulations to govern the licensing, operation, and oversight of aesthetic centers. The initiative aims to establish clear criteria for the industry to protect public health and ensure community safety.

Through the Sanitary Inspection Directorate, technical teams and representatives from relevant professional colleges held an initial working meeting to discuss the framework. Key areas of focus include sanitary licensing for establishments, professional practice standards, and mandatory requirements for safety, hygiene, and biosecurity.

Karina Córdoba, Director of Sanitary Inspection, stated that the goal is to create a consensual regulatory framework that addresses the current needs of the sector while strengthening inspection and control mechanisms. The process involves close collaboration with professional entities to ensure the regulations reflect the realities of the industry.
