La Rioja reinforces security forces with 272 new officers
The government of La Rioja has officially inducted 272 new members into its security forces. This group, part of the 2025 class, includes 217 personnel for the Provincial Police and 55 for the Penitentiary Service.
All new recruits completed their training at the Instituto Superior de Formación Integral en Seguridad Pública (ISFISP). To strengthen territorial presence, the police deployment is distributed across several areas: 85 officers to the Capital, 54 to Chilecito, and 45 to Chepes.
Governor Ricardo Quintela described the recruitment as a strategic investment rather than an administrative cost, emphasizing the need for professionalized and specialized personnel to build citizen trust. Minister of Security, Justice, and Human Rights Miguel Ángel Zárate noted that the current administration has trained a total of 1,224 individuals for police and penitentiary institutions to date.
