La Romana to host National Duathlon Championship

The Dominican Triathlon Federation (Fedotri) has announced the Santa Rosa de Lima National Duathlon Championship in La Romana. The event is scheduled for Sunday, August 30, starting at 7:00 a.m. near the Parque Central de La Romana.

Competing in a sprint format, athletes will complete a course consisting of 5 kilometers of running, 20 kilometers of cycling, and a final 2.5 kilometers of running. The championship is organized by Fedotri, the La Romana Triathlon Association (Asotriro), and the La Romana Mayor's Office as part of the city's traditional patron saint festivities.

Officials including Fedotri treasurer Aristóteles Newman and Asotriro leaders Lener Mercedes and Aristilda Mercedes noted that the competition aims to strengthen duathlon and triathlon sports in the Dominican Republic by providing development opportunities for athletes of various ages.
