La Route du Rock festival sees highest attendance in 12 years

The 2026 edition of the La Route du Rock festival in Saint-Malo has achieved its highest attendance in 12 years, with organizers reporting over 30,000 attendees. Festival director François Floret attributed this success to a strong lineup, specifically noting that the band Fontaines D. C. drove significant ticket sales by performing their only date in France during the event.

In addition to high attendance, organizers implemented several improvements to the attendee experience, including enhanced decorum at Fort Saint-Père and the creation of the ‘Indie Way’ space in the moats to alleviate crowding near the main stage.

The musical programming featured a mix of high-energy performances and intimate sets, including a solo presentation by Alice Costelloe, who performed songs from her debut album, ‘Move on with Year’.
