La Roux releases new single “Lose Myself”

Singer La Roux has released “Lose Myself,” the latest single from her upcoming fourth studio album, Old Flames. The track explores her personal struggles with weed dependency, which she describes as a form of self-medication following an auADHD diagnosis.

Musically, the song features ambient synths and an electronic beat, drawing on a mid-1990s pop sound. La Roux described the song as a battle between “the angel and the devil on my shoulder,” representing the conflict between the desire to escape through addiction and the effort to break the cycle through self-respect.

Old Flames, which La Roux composed, wrote, produced, and arranged, is scheduled for release on November 6 via Vertigo/Casablanca Records. The album is expected to cover themes of addiction, sexuality, identity, and the end of a 17-year relationship. “Lose Myself” follows previous previews “Babyline” and “Cabin Fever.”
