La Réunion administrative tribunal confirms municipal election results

The Administrative Tribunal has rejected legal challenges contesting the results of the March 2026 municipal elections in several communes of La Réunion. The rulings confirm the election of municipal teams in La Possession, Le Tampon, Les Avirons, and Saint-Louis.

In Saint-Louis, the tribunal dismissed all grievances regarding the election of Juliana M'Doihoma, who won with 55.29% of the vote. The court examined various allegations, including voting procedures, electoral lists, human resources management, social aid, and institutional communication, but found no evidence of electoral fraud. This decision follows a prior approval of the campaign accounts by the National Commission for Campaign Accounts and Political Financing (CNCCFP).

In the other contested municipalities—La Possession, Le Tampon, and Les Avirons—the court followed the recommendations of the public rapporteur to reject the protests. While these judgments confirm the current municipal teams, the decisions remain subject to further appeals.
