La Scugnizzeria to open new Naples bookstore dedicated to Giancarlo Siani

La Scugnizzeria is opening its third bookstore in the Vomero district of Naples on September 23. The new location, situated at Piazzetta Durante 1, will operate under the Ubik brand, joining the national Ubik bookstore network while maintaining its original identity.

The opening date coincides with the anniversary of the death of Giancarlo Siani, a journalist whose legacy the bookstore will honor. The event will be inaugurated by Siani’s brother, Paolo Siani. As a tribute to the journalist, the bookstore will display Giancarlo Siani’s typewriter.

The opening ceremony will feature a marathon of readings of Siani’s articles. Additionally, the Brikanti association will donate two brick-built reproductions of the Mehari, the vehicle in which Siani was killed in 1985, to serve as symbolic tributes for both the bookstore and Paolo Siani.
