Léa Seydoux stars in Netflix crime thriller Gentle Monster

Netflix has released a trailer for ‘Gentle Monster’, a crime thriller directed and written by Marie Kreutzer. Starring Léa Seydoux, the film follows Lucy, a concert pianist whose life is upended when her husband, Philip, is arrested on allegations involving child sexual abuse material found on his computer.

The narrative focuses on Lucy’s perspective as she attempts to uncover the truth behind the accusations while protecting her son. Kreutzer noted that the film aims to avoid stereotypes by portraying perpetrators as people who can exist within seemingly normal family structures.

Following its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, the film is scheduled for a theatrical release in select cinemas on October 30, 2026, and will begin streaming on Netflix on November 18, 2026. The cast also includes Jella Haase, Laurence Rupp, and Catherine Deneuve.
