La Solana begins 600,000 euro Olympic pool renovation

The La Solana City Council has launched the first phase of a renovation project for its Olympic swimming pool and surrounding areas. The project involves an investment of approximately 600,000 euros using municipal funds.

The works are being executed in three phases with the goals of resolving water leaks, improving energy efficiency, and modernizing the facilities. The first phase involves removing poplar trees from the area, as their roots had damaged the pool structure and external networks.

Mayor Luisa Márquez stated that the project is designed to be financially sustainable, aiming to reduce costs in water, energy, and labor through increased automation of the maintenance system. Previous leaks had been severe enough to cause the complete emptying of the pool within days.
