La Spezia's Morin hosts 101st Palio del Golfo rowing race

The 101st edition of the Palio del Golfo took place on the first Sunday of August 2026 on the Morin promenade in La Spezia, Italy. Thirteen local boroughs entered crews in junior, female and senior categories, with a total of 195 athletes competing in three races that began at 17:00 and concluded with the senior race at 19:30.

The event attracted tens of thousands of spectators, with temperatures exceeding 30 °C. Organisers prepared water supplies, first‑aid stations and safety equipment, while the atmosphere was marked by colourful flags, chants and occasional fireworks as the boroughs vied for the coveted drape.
